In the 3rd minute of the match Kemal Türünk sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dirch Glerum skillfully saved the ball. Hønning's Dirch Glerum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paris Korellas in the 4th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Hønning's goal looked a bit too open when Iakovos Kapetanos came free, but Dirch Glerum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 minutes Hønning's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kemal Türünk who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Chatziantoniou Karapitsios heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Drafi's Victor Paez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Drafi from getting a goal against them. Thomas Mavreas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dirch Glerum read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Drafi's goal looked a bit too open when John-Arne Riise came free, but Victor Paez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paris Korellas in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dirch Glerum saved Hønning from getting behind. 31 minutes into the match, Drafi's goalkeeper Victor Paez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Per Nørbjerg. Victor Paez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John-Arne Riise in the 35th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iakovos Kapetanos in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dirch Glerum prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dirch Glerum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iakovos Kapetanos, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After a rather tough play, Drafi's Chatziantoniou Karapitsios got a free kick in the 44th minute. 46 minutes into the game, John-Arne Riise cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Victor Paez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John-Arne Riise made a kick off. Victor Paez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John-Arne Riise, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 54th minute Per Nørbjerg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Paez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Per Nørbjerg came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Hønning fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per Nørbjerg couldn't finish the play. Per Nørbjerg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 63 minutes, John-Arne Riise made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Drafi's Victor Paez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After taking down the ball on Drafi's corner Kemal Türünk fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dirch Glerum quite easily take care of the ball. Victor Paez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per Nørbjerg in the 88th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the game, Hønning's Per Nørbjerg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victor Paez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. In the 90th minute Per Nørbjerg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Paez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Paez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John-Arne Riise in the 92nd minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hønning had played much better football throughout.
