Alexandru Mercescu's late challenge caught a Royal Antwerp F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexandru Mercescu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Royal Antwerp F.C. booed when FC Acatar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Mercescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19thth minute of the game Andrei Alexandrescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Diederick Van den Plas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Andrei Alexandrescu came free, but Diederick Van den Plas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Andrei Alexandrescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Yves Justens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Lobo having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ioan Hârlab in the 39th minute of play forced Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goalkeeper Diederick Van den Plas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 40th minute Alexandru Mercescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diederick Van den Plas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Ioan Hârlab cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Diederick Van den Plas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andrei Alexandrescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Henri-Xavier Imbereghs fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal Antwerp F.C.'s protests and gave Henri-Xavier Imbereghs a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes Royal Antwerp F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Henri-Xavier Imbereghs. When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Andrei Alexandrescu took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Diederick Van den Plas to make any attempt to save it. Alexandru Mercescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute of the match FC Acatar got a corner. Royal Antwerp F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alexandru Mercescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 71st minute, Andrei Alexandrescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diederick Van den Plas made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Ioan Hârlab sent off a good shot on target. Diederick Van den Plas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrei Alexandrescu in the 75th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Alexandru Mercescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diederick Van den Plas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. Diederick Van den Plas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrei Alexandrescu in the 81st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ioan Hârlab got free with Diederick Van den Plas in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 87 minutes, Lv Yu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Acatar and the Royal Antwerp F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. 91 minutes into the match, Andrei Alexandrescu notched a goal, 0-10, to the right of Royal Antwerp F.C.'s Diederick Van den Plas. Diederick Van den Plas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the final whistle sounded FC Acatar left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Royal Antwerp F.C..
