Stanny Van Wontergem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stanny Van Wontergem made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Atlético Bucaramanga's attentive Sotero Abrea managed to snatch the ball when Joery Van Mechelen made a throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game. Stanny Van Wontergem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xacintu Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. In the 42nd minute, Atlético Bucaramanga's Xacintu Ribeiro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stanny Van Wontergem. Stanny Van Wontergem yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Stanny Van Wontergem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Xacintu Ribeiro's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Xacintu Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stanny Van Wontergem. YR Mechelen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xacintu Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xacintu Ribeiro was the one to do the kick off.
