In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind CD ESPAÑOL's goalkeeper Elo Orris, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mainor Coronado in the 14th minute of play forced CD ESPAÑOL's goalkeeper Elo Orris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustin Barrantes struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Elo Orris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CS La Libertad. Elo Orris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Millot, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th match minute, CD ESPAÑOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustino Moise to maneuver through the defense. CD ESPAÑOL's Elo Orris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Lobo in the 29th minute of play. A collision led to CD ESPAÑOL getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Leonardo Silvanito hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Agustin Barrantes in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elo Orris prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto Monge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlitos Tevez's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. If Agustin Barrantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlitos Tevez's late challenge caught a CS La Libertad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlitos Tevez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th match minute, CD ESPAÑOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlitos Tevez to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agustin Barrantes was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Desiderio Boniel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ernesto Monge was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gerardo Millot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elo Orris having to interfere. A collision led to CD ESPAÑOL getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Sixto Urki hit a great ball. CS La Libertad's Miguel Volio was substituted for Marco Ureña. CS La Libertad were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after CD ESPAÑOL's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Agustin Barrantes took the corner. Ospin Horcajo thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Elo Orris, a very annoying self made goal in the 64th minute which led to 2-1. 66 minutes into the game, Agustin Barrantes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Elo Orris was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elo Orris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Martinez in the 69th minute of the match. Agustin Barrantes kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. CS La Libertad's Elias Carballo was substituted for Agustin Barrantes. In the 74th match minute, CS La Libertad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustin Barrantes to maneuver through the defense. Desiderio Boniel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernesto Monge read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. With a little luck, CD ESPAÑOL's Elo Orris got control of the ball when Miguel Volio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Miguel Volio scored 2-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elo Orris, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. CD ESPAÑOL's Elo Orris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save CD ESPAÑOL from getting a goal against them. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched CS La Libertad eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
