Spectators: 187 (Terracing: 141, Seating: 43, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Guido Vissenaeken started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Congo Bongo's Máté Márton got control of the ball when Guido Vissenaeken tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 12th minute, Guido Vissenaeken reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Máté Márton. The goal made the score 1-0. After a rather tough play, Brugge United's Herbert Pietrowicz got a free kick in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 18th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Guido Vissenaeken lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Máté Márton. Damaso Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Vítor Baia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Baia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Froilan Iaki, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Congo Bongo's Máté Márton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Congo Bongo from getting a goal against them. If Damaso Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guido Vissenaeken in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Máté Márton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Sancho in the 42nd minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Brugge United's zone, Damaso Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Baia came out of the goal and Damaso Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Brugge United's Waud Huijbrechts was substituted for Jaspar Van Den Broeck. The wind increased when Damaso Sancho made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnauld Van Impe in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Máté Márton saved Congo Bongo from getting behind. The supporters of Congo Bongo booed when Brugge United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Will Deman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Congo Bongo made a substitution. Arnaldo Oidor replaced Damaso Sancho. Congo Bongo's Gonzalo Cucho was substituted for Kaj-Åke Kaká. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Will Deman hit a great ball. Vítor Baia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Austin in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 64th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute of the match, Arnaldo Oidor got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vítor Baia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Vítor Baia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingvar Andersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Congo Bongo's Caleb Law got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Máté Márton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnauld Van Impe in the 74th minute of play. Vítor Baia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arnaldo Oidor in the 78th minute. Congo Bongo's Máté Márton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnauld Van Impe in the 81st minute of play. In the 84th minute, Congo Bongo's Froilan Iaki ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vítor Baia. Vítor Baia yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. 87 minutes into the match, Arnauld Van Impe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Máté Márton. Congo Bongo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arnauld Van Impe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Sergio Austin succeeded in the game's 96th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-2.
