The audience was convinced that Peter Blomkvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabian Söderström was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. In the 15th minute Peter Blomkvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabian Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacinto Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes in the game Harold Van Cruchten did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Jacinto Torres. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Enekoitz in the 34th minute of play forced Haithabu FC's goalkeeper Fabian Söderström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 minutes of play, Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥'s Joel Enekoitz made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabian Söderström was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacinto Torres was the one to do the kick off. Fabian Söderström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Blomkvist in the 55th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥'s Peter Blomkvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fabian Söderström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥ getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gökçe Yalazalp hit a great ball. Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥ made a substitution. Pietro Salles replaced Peter Blomkvist. In the 65th match minute, Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gökçe Yalazalp to maneuver through the defense. Nicasio Abad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥'s Jaime Iago got a free kick in the 67th minute. Haithabu FC made a substitution. Gervasio Albonico replaced Kurt Slaghmeulders. In the 68th minute, Jaime Iago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥'s Nicasio Abad got control of the ball when Jacinto Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Haithabu FC's goalkeeper Fabian Söderström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 80 minutes into the game, Jacinto Torres recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nicasio Abad. Jacinto Torres showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Haithabu FC's Mauri Icardi was substituted for Jacinto Torres. Pietro Salles took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabian Söderström. Fabian Söderström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. For all the effort they put into the match, the Haithabu FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Monterrey ante el Mundo⛥.
