Sandrinho Meira hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Robbe Stroobans might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aloísio Rodrigues. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robbe Stroobans ran back to his position shaking his head. 17 minutes into the match, Warren FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Robbe Stroobans came free, but Aloísio Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Suleiman Süleyman in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aloísio Rodrigues prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 26 played minutes Warren FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Dênis Campidelis. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Simão Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Warren FC - DMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Simão Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francesco Toldo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simão Santos in the 39th minute of play forced Peretu City 09's goalkeeper Francesco Toldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 minutes Peretu City 09's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lin Zhen Yuan who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Warren FC - DMZ's corner Lin Zhen Yuan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Francesco Toldo quite easily take care of the ball. When Samuel Valladares fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Warren FC - DMZ's protests and gave Samuel Valladares a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Peretu City 09 booed when Warren FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Warren FC - DMZ getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Dorian Faria hit a great ball. When Marin Bosânceanu came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Peretu City 09 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marin Bosânceanu couldn't finish the play. In the 48th minute Robbe Stroobans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aloísio Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Robbe Stroobans stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
