Flamenco United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bircan Serdar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Flamenco United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of La Gallardeta:s goal. The supporters of Flamenco United booed when La Gallardeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Attilio Stefano didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bircan Serdar in the 46th minute of play forced La Gallardeta's goalkeeper Oliver Can to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

La Gallardeta made a substitution. Amado Chayo replaced Attilio Stefano. The Flamenco United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ye Zheng should have stopped the shot. Oliver Can showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bircan Serdar in the 64th minute of the match. Amado Chayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. La Gallardeta's Esteban Leizarraga was substituted for Teodoro Delfino. Oliver Can made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jurgen Turpin in the 71st minute. Jurgen Turpin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Oliver Can made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Flamenco United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
