In the 16th minute Leandro Soares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 史默晨 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Fc Benefica's goal looked a bit too open when Marcio Carreira came free, but Mitchel Dijkstra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Andriessen kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Leandro Soares sped through FCSB CUENCA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of 史默晨. A collision led to Fc Benefica getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Humberto Jonge hit a great ball. After some careless play in the FCSB CUENCA defense, Leandro Soares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 史默晨. The FCSB CUENCA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 史默晨 should have stopped the shot. David Wilmink kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Mitchel Dijkstra made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Francisco Sanches in the 45th minute. If Leandro Soares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 史默晨 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leandro Soares made a kick off. Leandro Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. 史默晨 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leandro Soares scored 0-6 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of 史默晨, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mitchel Dijkstra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens van Basten in the 67th minute of play forced FCSB CUENCA's goalkeeper 史默晨 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mitchel Dijkstra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcio Carreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 史默晨 was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Leandro Soares showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 79 minute of play. 史默晨 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leandro Soares in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute, Fc Benefica's Leandro Soares ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind 史默晨. 史默晨 yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-8. 史默晨 came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Fc Benefica's Leandro Soares. But to his dismay, Leandro Soares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-9. After 95 minutes of play, FCSB CUENCA's João Francisco Sanches made it 1-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mitchel Dijkstra was left in no man's land by his defense there!
