Cai Ocaña charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cai Ocaña the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cai Ocaña hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Juan Carlos Suciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adérito Pinheiro in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, GD Almargense's Benedito Rebelo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juan Carlos Suciu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Abdika Philip might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudemiro Tristão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Abdika Philip ran back to his position shaking his head. Claudemiro Tristão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdika Philip in the 34th minute of play. Juan Carlos Suciu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Eiró in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Eiró in the 37th minute of play forced Salud y República's goalkeeper Juan Carlos Suciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Celso Eiró had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adérito Pinheiro hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After 46 played minutes GD Almargense got a freekick which was hit by Idalécio Veloso. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Juan Carlos Suciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito Rebelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Juan Carlos Suciu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Eanes in the 54th minute of the match. Juan Carlos Suciu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Celso Eiró's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Juan Carlos Suciu came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by GD Almargense's Alexandre Eanes. But to his dismay, Alexandre Eanes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. GD Almargense's Carlos Vides was substituted for Benedito Rebelo. After a rather tough play, Salud y República's Ximen Feria got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the match, Alexandre Eanes sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Juan Carlos Suciu threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Alexandre Eanes this time. Juan Carlos Suciu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Vides in the 67th minute. After 68 played minutes Salud y República got a freekick which was hit by Rey Guillotin. In the 78th match minute, GD Almargense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Eanes to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Kristiansen in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan Carlos Suciu saved Salud y República from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Salud y República's Archibaldo Ecija got a free kick in the 90th minute. 95 minutes into the game, Zarco Patrício recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Juan Carlos Suciu. Zarco Patrício showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. When the match was over GD Almargense could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Salud y República throughout the match.
