AC Milan's Qiao Si Chao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piotr Kociniewski in the 10th minute of play. Kajetan Pruss scored 1-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Qiao Si Chao, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Artur Borubar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petro Shenaj, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Demir Galla lost his temper 36 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Demir Galla hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Rothenburg SSA's zone, Fuat Mançellari stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Borubar came out of the goal and Fuat Mançellari tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piotr Kociniewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Qiao Si Chao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Petro Shenaj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Borubar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AC Milan were awarded a corner in the 49th minute after Rothenburg SSA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Xie Xuan Li took the corner. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Fuat Mançellari could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Artur Borubar made a huge save. 92 minutes into the match, Rothenburg SSA's goal looked a bit too open when Petro Shenaj came free, but Artur Borubar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Petro Shenaj in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Artur Borubar saved Rothenburg SSA from getting behind. In the 94th minute, Rafal Imbor made a precise shot to the right of Qiao Si Chao. AC Milan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1.
