Spectators: 190 (Terracing: 143, Seating: 44, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Manfred Konradsson started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Caniggia in the 9th minute of play forced KOCAELİSPOR's goalkeeper Şemsettin Tuyuğ to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. KOCAELİSPOR's Şemsettin Tuyuğ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Konradsson in the 10th minute of play. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Ettore Petroni sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Lemel SV getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Patrick Hoffmann hit a great ball. Ernst de Hoop came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by KOCAELİSPOR's Ömer Demirci. But to his dismay, Ömer Demirci quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Bergkamp in the 19th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Ediz Tekdoğan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KOCAELİSPOR's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lemel SV the free kick. After a rather tough play, KOCAELİSPOR's Ediz Tekdoğan got a free kick in the 19th minute. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfred Konradsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 26 minutes into the match, Ömer Demirci had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ernst de Hoop. Lemel SV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ömer Demirci was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 37th minute, Maximino Claris left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KOCAELİSPOR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 41st minute, Oscar Stuijvenberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Şemsettin Tuyuğ made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Dennis Bergkamp sent off a good shot on target. Edelmiro Reyes charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edelmiro Reyes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 46 played minutes Lemel SV got a freekick which was hit by Edelmiro Reyes.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ömer Demirci made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, KOCAELİSPOR's Ömer Demirci sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ernst de Hoop narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st play minute Ömer Demirci came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ernst de Hoop. 0-4. Lemel SV made a substitution. Marcus Tuhuteru replaced Dennis Bergkamp. KOCAELİSPOR's Davut Erek was substituted for Boğaçhan Tanır. Şemsettin Tuyuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Tuhuteru in the 69th minute of the match. Lemel SV's Edelmiro Reyes managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fiori Britto in the 74 minute of the game. In the 77thth minute of the game Marcus Tuhuteru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KOCAELİSPOR's Şemsettin Tuyuğ was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 82nd minute Marcus Tuhuteru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şemsettin Tuyuğ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Aşır Zabit's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernst de Hoop was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. 90 minutes into the match, Marcus Tuhuteru had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Şemsettin Tuyuğ. KOCAELİSPOR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcus Tuhuteru was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 94th minute, Marcus Tuhuteru made a precise shot to the right of Şemsettin Tuyuğ. KOCAELİSPOR's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. The KOCAELİSPOR supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing KOCAELİSPOR would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
