Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Samuel Farmer started the match with the kick off. Marcus Deacon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolf Nordstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After taking down the ball on Fulham Broadway FC's corner Sixten Norberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcus Deacon quite easily take care of the ball. Marcus Deacon made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Sven-Edvin Unesson sent off a good shot on target. Through an outstanding action, after 10 minutes, Marcus Deacon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 11th minute Fulham Broadway FC were awarded a corner. Sixten Norberg went to the cornerflag to take it. Steve Oliver recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Steve Oliver hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Sven-Edvin Unesson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Marcus Deacon made a huge save. Mayo's Marcus Deacon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Mayo from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Mayo's Amílton Siqueira got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 35th minute of the match Mayo got a corner. Fulham Broadway FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Johnnie Osbourn ran over to the corner to take the kick. Börje Blomqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steve Oliver in the 40th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rudolf Nordstedt made a kick off. With an all-out effort, Mayo's Börje Blomqvist threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Samuel Farmer, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Börje Blomqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glyn Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fulham Broadway FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Johnnie Osbourn was slow to take the kick. During this time Mayo's players had a chance to rest. Steve Oliver could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Börje Blomqvist made a huge save. Steve Oliver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börje Blomqvist having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Fulham Broadway FC's goal looked a bit too open when Steve Oliver came free, but Börje Blomqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 78th minute by Samuel Farmer got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Mayo made a substitution. Will Porter replaced Johnnie Osbourn. Fulham Broadway FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when William Symons scored to the left of an out of position Börje Blomqvist, making the score, 0-2. 87 minutes into the game, Mayo's Patrick Robins nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Börje Blomqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3.
