In the 4th minute Samuel Farmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Helmut Alabor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ismaele Santo Strub had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 7 minutes into the match, Mayo's goalkeeper Marcus Deacon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thorsten Nägele. A collision led to FC Triesenberg getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Christof Schwitter hit a great ball. Helmut Alabor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Symons in the 28th minute of the match. Mayo's Marcus Deacon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Mayo from getting a goal against them. Helmut Alabor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Farmer in the 31st minute of play. Daniel Fuchs charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Fuchs the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 33rd match minute, FC Triesenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Fuchs to maneuver through the defense. Helmut Alabor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Symons, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. During the 44th minute of the match Daniel Fuchs completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuel Farmer to make the kick off. Helmut Alabor made an important save on a dangerous shot by William Symons in the 59th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Steve Oliver kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Helmut Alabor. That made the score 0-3 in the 62 minute of play. FC Triesenberg's Helmut Alabor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steve Oliver in the 65th minute of play. Mayo were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after FC Triesenberg's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Johnnie Osbourn took the corner. Helmut Alabor made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Johnnie Osbourn sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Johnnie Osbourn kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Helmut Alabor. That made the score 0-7 in the 92 minute of play. In the 95th minute, Mayo's Patrick Robins dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. Mayo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
