Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Ieltxu in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luis Nardo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 13 minutes into the match, TORQUE F.C.'s Cristian Ieltxu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luis Nardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Florida Gulf Coast getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Eleuterio Fiz hit a great ball. In the 22ndth minute of the game Cristian Ieltxu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Florida Gulf Coast's Luis Nardo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Qian Di Lei threw the ball into play from the sideline. Florida Gulf Coast's Eleuterio Fiz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Lukáš Katačić struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Sébastien Frey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Florida Gulf Coast. Florida Gulf Coast's attentive Lukáš Katačić managed to snatch the ball when Qian Di Lei made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. Sébastien Frey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lukáš Katačić in the 40th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cristian Ieltxu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Florida Gulf Coast's Sébastien Frey threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Lukáš Katačić, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Florida Gulf Coast's Luis Nardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Ieltxu in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Ieltxu in the 64th minute of play forced Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper Luis Nardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Cristian Ieltxu notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Florida Gulf Coast's Luis Nardo.
