The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee ignored Raureni Academy's protests and gave Grigore Ozon a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes Raureni Academy got a freekick which was hit by Grigore Ozon. Victor Ologu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Gallberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nestor Iratxo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nichifor Aelenei in the 11th minute of play. Francisc Ţăranu hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jimmie Stephansson to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Puskas United's zone, Pompiliu Andrițoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nestor Iratxo came out of the goal and Pompiliu Andrițoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Puskas United's goal looked a bit too open when Cristinel Tomozei came free, but Nestor Iratxo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
