Paulo Baldaia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but August Hjortberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. August Hjortberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Baldaia in the 17th minute of the match. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind ②Θ►LΘCΘ◄Θ⑨'s goalkeeper Dagoberto Zonta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, ②Θ►LΘCΘ◄Θ⑨'s Dagoberto Zonta got control of the ball when Kasper Bivall tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henrik Kilström in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dagoberto Zonta saved ②Θ►LΘCΘ◄Θ⑨ from getting behind. In the 47th minute, Alfred Piatek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Baldaia was the one to do the kick off. Txerran Mortal was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. ②Θ►LΘCΘ◄Θ⑨'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. They were angered to see Flamengo lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
