Oscar De León in the 10thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of José Pedro Bertassi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Atlético Municipal getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Aristides Caldas hit a great ball. Oscar De León's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 14thth minute, José Pedro Bertassi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 16th minute Oscar De León shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 19 played minutes Atlético Municipal got a freekick which was hit by Isac Ţiriac. Ademir de Almeida struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Chuan Cintron didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo AP. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willie Colon in the 23rd minute of play forced Botafogo AP's goalkeeper José Pedro Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute Oscar De León shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pedro Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Pedro Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar De León, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute, Oscar De León got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Claude Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Municipal's supporters rose to their feet, but Claude Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Pedro Bertassi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Willie Colon sped through Botafogo AP's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of José Pedro Bertassi.

Botafogo AP's José Pedro Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willie Colon in the 53rd minute of play. José Pedro Bertassi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willie Colon in the 53rd minute of the match. When Fritz Ernst Joinvilense came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Botafogo AP fans jumped to their feet. After 62 minutes of play, Atlético Municipal's Willie Colon made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Pedro Bertassi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Botafogo AP made a substitution. Carlos Eduardo Furlan replaced Fritz Ernst Joinvilense. Atlético Municipal's Aristides Caldas quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Reinaldo Kellogg, made in the 77th minute of the game. 80 minutes into the match, Atlético Municipal's goalkeeper Chuan Cintron had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Eduardo Furlan. A collision led to Botafogo AP getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Pedrinho Alvarenga hit a great ball. Celio Cruz made in the 84th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Willie Colon however managed to control. José Pedro Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willie Colon in the 85th minute of play. Atlético Municipal made a substitution. Frank Dusett replaced Willie Colon. Atlético Municipal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Claude Sena in the 88th minute. At last the ball reached Andoni Viguri at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Botafogo AP. 6-0. José Pedro Bertassi came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Municipal's Frank Dusett. But to his dismay, Frank Dusett quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Atlético Municipal had won after a very even match.
