Kev Hurtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dušan Ančic having to interfere. Jose Boldu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pastor Eufemio, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Percival in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jose Boldu saved Deportivo ScrugenFC from getting behind. Jose Boldu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Percival in the 28th minute of play. Kev Hurtado kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Deportivo ScrugenFC's goal looked a bit too open when Pastor Eufemio came free, but Jose Boldu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atlético de Newell's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Doriva Saldanha was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo ScrugenFC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Doriva Saldanha almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic did a great save. Kev Hurtado's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Dušan Ančic skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 37th match minute, Club Atlético de Newell was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amanda Hoffs to maneuver through the defense. Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kev Hurtado in the 39th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pastor Eufemio in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jose Boldu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jose Boldu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pastor Eufemio in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Club Atlético de Newell were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Pastor Eufemio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Jose Boldu made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pastor Eufemio got free with Jose Boldu in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 58 minutes, Kev Hurtado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo ScrugenFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kev Hurtado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Doriva Saldanha came free, but Dušan Ančic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pastor Eufemio got free with Jose Boldu in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 66 minutes, Kev Hurtado made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Deportivo ScrugenFC made a substitution. Renato Tapia replaced Su Yong Zhen. Deportivo ScrugenFC's Zoil Pequeño was substituted for Kev Hurtado.
