The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sebastian Percival fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerônimo da Cunha having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Spike Foley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerônimo da Cunha was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atacan Rahim in the 14th minute of play. Jerônimo da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Spike Foley in the 15th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by William Dunning in the 16th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Elite™- FC Galácticos's Maël Zapata. Dušan Ančic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Atacan Rahim in the 17th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Atacan Rahim came free, but Dušan Ančic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Elite™- FC Galácticos's Atacan Rahim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dušan Ančic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Atacan Rahim took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dušan Ančic. Dušan Ančic dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 24th minute of the match, Sebastian Percival tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jerônimo da Cunha saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 25 minutes into the match, Elite™- FC Galácticos's Atacan Rahim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dušan Ančic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Atacan Rahim scored 1-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dušan Ančic, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dušan Ančic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atacan Rahim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Elite™- FC Galácticos's Atacan Rahim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dušan Ančic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Atacan Rahim took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dušan Ančic. Dušan Ančic dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Dušan Ančic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atacan Rahim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute Elite™- FC Galácticos were awarded a corner. Nikos Kladogennis went to the cornerflag to take it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atacan Rahim in the 41st minute of play forced Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Dušan Ančic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dušan Ančic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atacan Rahim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Dušan Ančic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Atacan Rahim in the 50th minute of play. Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atacan Rahim in the 53rd minute of play. When Fri Spel fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Elite™- FC Galácticos's protests and gave Fri Spel a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th match minute, Elite™- FC Galácticos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fri Spel to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the game, Atacan Rahim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Dušan Ančic was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee felt a red card was in order, 61 minutes into the game, when Vince Haywood put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Club Atlético de Newell:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Elite™- FC Galácticos:s goal. After 65 minutes Club Atlético de Newell's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nikos Kladogennis who took care of the corner kick. Elite™- FC Galácticos's Nikos Kladogennis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dušan Ančic in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Atacan Rahim took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dušan Ančic. Dušan Ančic dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Elite™- FC Galácticos made a substitution. Gino Monteiro replaced Atacan Rahim. Club Atlético de Newell made a substitution. Casey Harban replaced Arbi Newell. Elite™- FC Galácticos made a substitution. Zachary Kosmatka replaced Luiz Paulo Seco. In the 73rd minute, Pastor Eufemio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jerônimo da Cunha was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-5. In the 77th minute, Casey Harban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maël Zapata shot from long distance in the 78th minute, but Dušan Ančic was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 86 minutes, Dušan Ančic successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 89th minute Gino Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dušan Ančic saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Club Atlético de Newell's Dušan Ančic got control of the ball when Fabian Zabrzeski tried to sneak it across the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Newell's goal looked a bit too open when Zachary Kosmatka came free, but Dušan Ančic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Zabrzeski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Dušan Ančic made a huge save. Fabian Zabrzeski in the 97thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dušan Ančic, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The Club Atlético de Newell manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Elite™- FC Galácticos to win.
