When Espen Steelers's Nino Schurter in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Otto Hermansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alain Berset in the 29th minute of the match. Gregor Kobel made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Max Mohammad sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Espen Steelers booed when Newcastle United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Rosendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nino Schurter was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Nino Schurter notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Newcastle United FC's Otto Hermansson. Otto Hermansson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Newcastle United FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Alain Berset kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the game, Newcastle United FC's Claes Ahlroht nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gregor Kobel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Espen Steelers's Roman Beljean was substituted for Alberto Giacometti. Newcastle United FC's Tord Åström was substituted for Claes Ahlroht. Espen Steelers made a substitution. Rogelio Montez replaced Alain Berset. Gregor Kobel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tord Åström in the 71st minute of play. Stan Wawrinka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Otto Hermansson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Olofsson in the 84th minute of play forced Espen Steelers's goalkeeper Gregor Kobel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute Stan Wawrinka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otto Hermansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Espen Steelers's Rogelio Montez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Otto Hermansson. Otto Hermansson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. Newcastle United FC's Otto Hermansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Newcastle United FC from getting a goal against them. Nino Schurter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Otto Hermansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rogelio Montez came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Espen Steelers fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogelio Montez couldn't finish the play.
