Sven Josefsson came out of the goal and Bebeto Gaúcho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the match, Boomer Fc's Marco Boniel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sven Josefsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the match, flamengoric.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marco Boniel came free, but Sven Josefsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven Josefsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Boniel in the 35th minute of play. In the 40th minute Marco Boniel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Josefsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gumersindo Moreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbson Novaes in the 44th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, flamengoric.'s Gumersindo Moreira threw himself towards the right post 46 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Maurício Secco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felipe Valladares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
