Modesto Oakley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arden Poulin in the 16th minute of the match. After 16 minutes of play, Persepolis F.C.'s Arden Poulin made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Modesto Oakley was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 18 minutes, Amerigo Egger managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lilywhites's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amerigo Egger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Persepolis F.C.'s Léopold Castro in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léopold Castro in the 40th minute of play forced Lilywhites's goalkeeper Modesto Oakley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arden Poulin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Modesto Oakley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amerigo Egger in the 46th minute of play forced Persepolis F.C.'s goalkeeper Santos Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amerigo Egger to make the kick off. Modesto Oakley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Avery Merrill in the 53rd minute. In the 56thth minute of the game Amerigo Egger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Santos Perez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amerigo Egger in the 57th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Amerigo Egger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santos Perez was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. A collision led to Persepolis F.C. getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Wang Yi Kun hit a great ball. Persepolis F.C. made a substitution. Danny Craig replaced Ildefonso Harkaitz. Despite this Santos Perez quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 65 minutes into the match, Persepolis F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Ermanno Baratta came free, but Santos Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Léopold Castro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Modesto Oakley was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Léopold Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Modesto Oakley having to interfere. Persepolis F.C.'s Santos Perez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amerigo Egger in the 76th minute of play. A collision led to Persepolis F.C. getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Avery Merrill hit a great ball. If Léopold Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermanno Baratta in the 89th minute of play forced Persepolis F.C.'s goalkeeper Santos Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Persepolis F.C. defense, Ermanno Baratta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Santos Perez. The Persepolis F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santos Perez should have stopped the shot. Lilywhites's Modesto Oakley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arden Poulin in the 93rd minute of play. If Amerigo Egger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lilywhites's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
