In the 5th match minute, Planet Caravan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdomiro Macedo to maneuver through the defense. When Luís Eduardo Salles came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Esporte Club Bahia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Eduardo Salles couldn't finish the play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 6th minute, but Romeu Marques got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Planet Caravan hanging dry this time. Planet Caravan's Romeu Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Planet Caravan from getting a goal against them. When Luís Eduardo Salles came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Esporte Club Bahia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Eduardo Salles couldn't finish the play. Luís Eduardo Salles scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Romeu Marques, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Wilian Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. Planet Caravan's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilian Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Lomba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bebeto Queirós in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Lomba saved Esporte Club Bahia from getting behind. In the 30th minute, Tiago Xavier fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Planet Caravan's Romeu Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Gustavo Paes in the 34th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Luiz Gustavo Paes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romeu Marques. Planet Caravan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Gustavo Paes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Romeu Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tiago Xavier in the 38th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bebeto Queirós in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Lomba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Esporte Club Bahia getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Gilberto Quadros hit a great ball. Wilian Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Lomba having to interfere.

With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Esporte Club Bahia booed when Planet Caravan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdomiro Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute Luís Eduardo Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Eduardo Salles in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeu Marques saved Planet Caravan from getting behind. Marcelo Lomba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luiz Gustavo Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Romeu Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Planet Caravan's Romeu Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Gustavo Paes in the 81st minute of play. After 83 minutes Planet Caravan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tiago Xavier who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Luís Eduardo Salles got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Romeu Marques quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Tiago Xavier notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Planet Caravan's Romeu Marques. Romeu Marques was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Planet Caravan players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Esporte Club Bahia.
