An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauan Loyola in the 14th minute of play forced Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Osvald Kadajas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osvald Kadajas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Marcelo Lomba skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Esporte Club Bahia's Tiago Xavier got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Esporte Club Bahia's zone, Osvald Kadajas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Lomba came out of the goal and Osvald Kadajas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Marcelo Lomba managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Cin-Cin Marger la birra's Osvald Kadajas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Marcelo Lomba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauan Loyola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the game, Tiago Xavier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ignacy Hajduk was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 38th match minute, Cin-Cin Marger la birra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Akis Galitsis to maneuver through the defense. After 38 played minutes, Esporte Club Bahia's Tiago Xavier shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ignacy Hajduk came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Marcelo Lomba as he didn't even see the shot coming. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Gustavo Paes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcelo Lomba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvald Kadajas in the 53rd minute of play. Esporte Club Bahia's Luiz Gustavo Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 65th minute, Tiago Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean Sampaio during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Yaman Alp took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcelo Lomba. With a left leg Marcelo Lomba saved Esporte Club Bahia from getting behind. Ignacy Hajduk made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Luís Eduardo Salles sent off a good shot on target. Esporte Club Bahia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tiago Xavier in the 79th minute. Osvald Kadajas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Esporte Club Bahia's Luiz Gustavo Paes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ignacy Hajduk. That made the score 2-2 after 90 minutes of play. Cauan Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Lomba having to interfere. When Osvald Kadajas came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Cin-Cin Marger la birra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvald Kadajas couldn't finish the play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
