The audience thought a goal was coming when Pastor Donostia got free with Silvestre Peli in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 41 minutes into the game, Godfried Teunens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Timo Courtois was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Silvestre Peli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 陶远星, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Godfried Teunens to make the kick off.
