After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Cayetano Monico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Cayetano Monico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augustin Bălăiță breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the match, Gzpn Timisoara's goalkeeper Augustin Bălăiță had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cayetano Monico. Augustin Bălăiță was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cayetano Monico showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 42 minute of play. Augustin Bălăiță showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cayetano Monico in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sabin Tatomir to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Gzpn Timisoara booed when Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Valentin Bernal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Trişcu in the 80th minute of the match. If Dagoberto Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gzpn Timisoara's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
