SEFEROĞULLARI's Shi Feng Zhen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Maradona in the 4th minute of play. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdulbaki Tuğtekin in the 8th minute of play. With a little luck, SEFEROĞULLARI's Shi Feng Zhen got control of the ball when Matias Bilintx tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Shi Feng Zhen managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Sporting de Gijón's Matias Bilintx fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Sporting de Gijón booed when SEFEROĞULLARI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Önder Cebi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Saturnino Curcio could shoot a difficult shot in the 15th minute, which Shi Feng Zhen however easily saved by the left post. In the 16th minute, Gancho Nakov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 23 minutes into the match, SEFEROĞULLARI's Abdulbaki Tuğtekin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Óscar Cordoba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdulbaki Tuğtekin in the 24th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, SEFEROĞULLARI's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Maradona came free, but Shi Feng Zhen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saturnino Curcio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Shi Feng Zhen firmly grabbed it by the left post. SEFEROĞULLARI's attentive Gancho Nakov managed to snatch the ball when Esteban Ekaitz made a throw-in in the 30th minute of the game. Szilveszter Zarka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Abdulbaki Tuğtekin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdulbaki Tuğtekin to make the kick off.
