Fabio Paredes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Real Panama CF's Fabio Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henk Cardinaal in the 9th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Perivaldo Eger got free with Fabio Paredes in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias de Ruijter in the 29th minute of play forced Real Panama CF's goalkeeper Fabio Paredes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Perivaldo Eger took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabio Paredes. Fabio Paredes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. At last the ball reached Mathias de Ruijter at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Real Panama CF. 2-0. Erben Roelofs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabio Paredes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Mike Zoetmulder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reggie Herrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Reggie Herrera took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mike Zoetmulder. Mike Zoetmulder dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

In the 51st minute Perivaldo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Real Panama CF defense, Henk Cardinaal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabio Paredes. The Real Panama CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabio Paredes should have stopped the shot. When De Pelgrims's Perivaldo Eger in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Real Panama CF's goalie prevented a goal. 59 minutes into the match, Mathias de Ruijter notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Real Panama CF's Fabio Paredes. Fabio Paredes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nicolás García hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. De Pelgrims's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Eger was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabio Paredes came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by De Pelgrims's Mathias de Ruijter. But to his dismay, Mathias de Ruijter quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. In the 68th minute Perivaldo Eger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perivaldo Eger in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabio Paredes saved Real Panama CF from getting behind. Perivaldo Eger took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabio Paredes. Fabio Paredes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. 75 minutes into the match, Real Panama CF's goal looked a bit too open when Henk Cardinaal came free, but Fabio Paredes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Luchito Mendieta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Erben Roelofs made a precise shot to the right of Fabio Paredes. Real Panama CF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. In the 83rd minute, Humberto Ortega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Reggie Herrera reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mike Zoetmulder. The goal made the score 7-2. In the 89th minute Henk Cardinaal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Paredes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Reggie Herrera was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Panama CF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave De Pelgrims the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in Real Panama CF's zone, Perivaldo Eger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Paredes came out of the goal and Perivaldo Eger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Perivaldo Eger took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabio Paredes. Fabio Paredes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-2. De Pelgrims's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
