After having played for 8 minutes, Jarl Torsberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IFK Bajenby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jarl Torsberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Xayvion Ageitos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Åke Stål made a huge save. Adolphe De Coster's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Åke Stål read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. IFK Bajenby's Bengt Byström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt Blixt in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th match minute, Hartlepool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frans Frisk to maneuver through the defense. Xayvion Ageitos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Åke Stål firmly grabbed it by the left post. When Frans Strand fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored IFK Bajenby's protests and gave Frans Strand a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for IFK Bajenby! Bengt Byström had in the 19thth minute some difficulties stopping Hasan Hüseyin Orak's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Åke Stål took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolphe De Coster, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hasan Hüseyin Orak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Byström having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarl Torsberg in the 31st minute of play forced Hartlepool's goalkeeper Åke Stål to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the match, IFK Bajenby's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt Blixt came free, but Bengt Byström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Hasan Hüseyin Orak had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bengt Byström. IFK Bajenby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hasan Hüseyin Orak was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Charlie Jansson to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the IFK Bajenby defense, Charlie Jansson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bengt Byström. The IFK Bajenby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bengt Byström should have stopped the shot. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. One of Hartlepool:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of IFK Bajenby:s goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Charlie Jansson in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bengt Byström saved IFK Bajenby from getting behind. Åke Stål made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolphe De Coster in the 60th minute of play. IFK Bajenby's Bengt Byström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save IFK Bajenby from getting a goal against them. The supporters of IFK Bajenby booed when Hartlepool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Oskar Kilberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Åke Stål took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olov Tunander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute Xayvion Ageitos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Stål saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Charlie Jansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bengt Byström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hartlepool walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
