After a rather tough play, Bembenfica's Dario Orlan got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 5 minutes into the match, Romando Futebol Clube's Valdomiro de Godoi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alípio Rego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Valdomiro de Godoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alípio Rego read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Valdomiro de Godoi succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 17th playminute. Alípio Rego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdomiro de Godoi in the 24th minute. Alípio Rego made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Valdomiro de Godoi sent off a good shot on target. In the 26th minute Valdomiro de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alípio Rego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdomiro de Godoi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alípio Rego having to make a save. Bembenfica's Alípio Rego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Bembenfica from getting a goal against them. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Orlan in the 35th minute of the match. Alípio Rego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the game, Vitor Roque cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 41 minutes, André Sundström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Romando Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Sundström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute Valdomiro de Godoi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alípio Rego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Qu Ting Ming kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

André Sundström struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Alípio Rego didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romando Futebol Clube. Alípio Rego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdomiro de Godoi's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdomiro de Godoi in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alípio Rego saved Bembenfica from getting behind. Alípio Rego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro de Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bembenfica's Alípio Rego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Paulista in the 70th minute of play. Romando Futebol Clube made a substitution. Niva Bellido replaced Valdomiro de Godoi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niva Bellido in the 81st minute of play forced Bembenfica's goalkeeper Alípio Rego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86thth minute of the game Niva Bellido who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bembenfica's Alípio Rego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Bembenfica booed when Romando Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Sundström didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Bembenfica's goal looked a bit too open when André Sundström came free, but Alípio Rego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alípio Rego came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Romando Futebol Clube's Niva Bellido. But to his dismay, Niva Bellido quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Bembenfica's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
