The Grêmio Santo André fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Gabriel-Omar Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilberto Loreto charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilberto Loreto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Grêmio Santo André booed when ★Independiente Ψ★ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilberto Loreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maximiliano Iigo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wellington Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Gabriel-Omar Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 18 minutes, Arnaldo Nascimento made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Maximiliano Iigo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ladislav Telepovský didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel-Omar Batista went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Ladislav Telepovský came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by ★Independiente Ψ★'s Gabriel-Omar Batista. But to his dismay, Gabriel-Omar Batista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Maximiliano Iigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wellington Vaz in the 31st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as ★Independiente Ψ★'s Gabriel-Omar Batista slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ladislav Telepovský. That made the score 3-2 after 36 minutes of play. 39 minutes into the match, Gabriel-Omar Batista notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Grêmio Santo André's Ladislav Telepovský. Ladislav Telepovský was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 41 minutes into the game, Luiz Fernando Marinho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Grêmio Santo André's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ★Independiente Ψ★ the free kick. In the 41st match minute, Grêmio Santo André was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fernando Marinho to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute, Gabriel-Omar Batista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute, Israel Manuelo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-2.

When ★Independiente Ψ★'s Gabriel-Omar Batista in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ladislav Telepovský was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gabriel-Omar Batista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ladislav Telepovský read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grêmio Santo André's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Adan Aresti was slow to take the kick. During this time ★Independiente Ψ★'s players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on ★Independiente Ψ★'s corner Adan Aresti fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ladislav Telepovský quite easily take care of the ball. Ladislav Telepovský came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by ★Independiente Ψ★'s Gabriel-Omar Batista. But to his dismay, Gabriel-Omar Batista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Lei Feng Ying was substituted for Gabriel-Omar Batista. In the 70th minute, Lei Feng Ying made a precise shot to the right of Ladislav Telepovský. Grêmio Santo André's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-2. The audience was convinced that Lei Feng Ying's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ladislav Telepovský was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lei Feng Ying in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ladislav Telepovský saved Grêmio Santo André from getting behind. ★Independiente Ψ★ made a substitution. Jay-Jay Okocha replaced Alfonso Musso. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lei Feng Ying in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ladislav Telepovský prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 89 minutes into the match, Grêmio Santo André's goal looked a bit too open when Lei Feng Ying came free, but Ladislav Telepovský reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ladislav Telepovský had in the 92ndth minute some difficulties stopping Jay-Jay Okocha's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Jay-Jay Okocha scored 10-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ladislav Telepovský, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 95 minutes into the match, Lei Feng Ying had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ladislav Telepovský. Grêmio Santo André's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lei Feng Ying was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-2.
