Valentim Castilho was slow to take the kick. During this time Eureka's players had a chance to rest. After 15 minutes, Dmitry Yakubovsky mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FORTALEZA and the Eureka players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Eureka booed when FORTALEZA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dmitry Yakubovsky didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salvador Sordo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascal Nouma in the 18th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Laureano Portugal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Xorxe Viguera was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. The nice shot from Valentim Castilho in the 22ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Xorxe Viguera had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. That made the score 2-0 in the 26 minute of play. Belchior Valadão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xorxe Viguera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind FORTALEZA's goalkeeper Xorxe Viguera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 35th minute of the match Eureka got a corner. FORTALEZA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valentim Castilho ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FORTALEZA's goalie and right to Belchior Valadão. In the 37thth minute of the game Laureano Portugal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FORTALEZA's Xorxe Viguera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valentim Castilho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xorxe Viguera having to interfere. Pascal Nouma's late challenge caught a Eureka's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pascal Nouma helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FORTALEZA getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Pascal Nouma hit a great ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zbyszko Tusk to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Valentim Castilho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Xorxe Viguera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xorxe Viguera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laureano Portugal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Belchior Valadão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Eureka's Valentim Castilho got a free kick in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, FORTALEZA's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Amado came free, but Xorxe Viguera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71stth minute of the game Valentim Castilho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FORTALEZA's Xorxe Viguera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Xorxe Viguera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laureano Portugal went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of FORTALEZA booed when Eureka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Severo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner ended in Valentim Castilho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FORTALEZA's Xorxe Viguera did a great save. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind FORTALEZA's goalkeeper Xorxe Viguera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Laureano Portugal took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xorxe Viguera. Xorxe Viguera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. In the 95th minute, Laureano Portugal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xorxe Viguera was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Eureka walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
