Jakes Vila took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guaberto Cucao. Guaberto Cucao dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amadeo Lara got free with Guaberto Cucao in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Guaberto Cucao didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 21st minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. Guaberto Cucao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jakes Vila in the 24th minute of play. After 26 minutes, Lázaro Chap mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mainumby and the ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Mainumby's Lázaro Chap got a free kick in the 26th minute. Guaberto Cucao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jakes Vila, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute of the match ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO got a corner. Mainumby's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amadeo Lara ran over to the corner to take the kick. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Amadeo Lara was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Guaberto Cucao in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 33rd minute, Lázaro Chap left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mainumby fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Mainumby's Guaberto Cucao proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Mainumby from getting a goal against them. Guaberto Cucao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laerte Favoretto in the 40th minute. Guaberto Cucao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Favoretto in the 46th minute of the match. 47 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Filomeno Camaño came free, but Guaberto Cucao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Mainumby's Francisco Dominic was substituted for Lázaro Chap. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Dominic made a kick off. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Guido Escobar was substituted for Jakes Vila. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Remigio Valerón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ladislao Serafo in the 74th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Laerte Favoretto came free, but Guaberto Cucao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guido Escobar scored 5-2 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guaberto Cucao, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
