The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isaias Matas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olavarria FC's goalkeeper Michel Hendrickx, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Olavarria FC's Isaias Matas in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Inter de Chillán's goalie prevented a goal. In the 29th minute Mauro Kotlar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anton Björnberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaias Matas in the 31st minute of play forced Inter de Chillán's goalkeeper Anton Björnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anton Björnberg was a little too slow when Isaias Matas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Inter de Chillán's goalkeeper Anton Björnberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Albino Zenteno fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter de Chillán's protests and gave Albino Zenteno a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Inter de Chillán's Albino Zenteno got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Rickard Erserman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michel Hendrickx read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. Anton Björnberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isaias Matas in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Isaias Matas made the kick off in the second half. Olavarria FC's Michel Hendrickx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florencio Jax in the 52nd minute of play. A throw-in in the 54th minute of the game was made by Albino Zenteno with Florencio Jax as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Anton Björnberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Kotlar in the 57th minute of play. In the 63rd minute, Isaias Matas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anton Björnberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Inter de Chillán's Marcel Wassermayer was substituted for Chen Feng Jian. Olavarria FC's Michel Hendrickx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Olavarria FC from getting a goal against them. Olavarria FC's Ervigio Ojeda was substituted for Isaias Matas. The corner led Inter de Chillán's Alfonso Sotta to fire away a dangerous shot which Michel Hendrickx despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ervigio Ojeda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Olavarria FC's Thys Lenoir got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Olavarria FC's goalkeeper Michel Hendrickx, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 88 minutes, Ervigio Ojeda made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Inter de Chillán's Anton Björnberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 90th match minute, Olavarria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 이 삼 to maneuver through the defense. Ervigio Ojeda took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anton Björnberg. Anton Björnberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Inter de Chillán's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
