The referee gave Leopoldo Palmeira a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Leopoldo Palmeira hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elari Eesti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 65th minute Elari Eesti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Kiril Biradzhiev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Moises Francho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 71st minute Elari Eesti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute of the match La Coruña FC got a corner. Corinthians's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. For all the effort they put into the match, the La Coruña FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Corinthians.
