José Maria Penas short, quick shot in the 3rdth minute got Francisco Nesor to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 5th minute A.D. Imperial were awarded a corner. Clemente Massa went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Clemente Massa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Francisco Nesor quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Narciz Gregl fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.D. Imperial's protests and gave Narciz Gregl a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to A.D. Imperial getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Narciz Gregl hit a great ball. A.D. Imperial's attentive Cristian Gâfu managed to snatch the ball when Haroldo Phelipe made a throw-in in the 21st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martín Palermo in the 25th minute of play forced A.D. Imperial's goalkeeper Valeri Zabelin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Martín Palermo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Metal Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Martín Palermo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valeri Zabelin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Itzaina in the 38th minute of play. After 41 played minutes A.D. Imperial got a freekick which was hit by Zahir Sahnouni. In the 41st minute of the match Reinaldo Castro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valeri Zabelin skillfully saved the ball. Francisco Nesor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Pena in the 43rd minute of play. The A.D. Imperial players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Metal Juniors were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Martín Palermo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valeri Zabelin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martín Palermo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 52nd minute Metal Juniors were awarded a corner. Reinaldo Castro went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 53rd minute, Emilio Bibiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valeri Zabelin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 57 minutes into the match, A.D. Imperial's Akis Bouzios sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisco Nesor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Martín Palermo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valeri Zabelin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. A.D. Imperial's Dadá Maravilha was substituted for José Maria Pena. A.D. Imperial's Valeri Zabelin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martín Palermo in the 65th minute of play. Francisco Nesor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexander Smith in the 67th minute of play. Francisco Nesor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dadá Maravilha in the 69th minute of the match. When Melker Flink fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Metal Juniors's protests and gave Melker Flink a yellow card for diving instead. Melker Flink hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Metal Juniors's Melker Flink got a free kick in the 84th minute. After having played for 86 minutes, Sergio Dennis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Metal Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergio Dennis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Nesor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dadá Maravilha, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinaldo Castro got free with Valeri Zabelin in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sergio Dennis took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valeri Zabelin. Valeri Zabelin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Metal Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
