The throw-in from Cornel Sălcudeanu in the 14th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Lex Academy's Fausto Castulo. Dino Zoff was a little too slow when Bernardo Novaes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 15th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 18th match minute, Lex Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fausto Castulo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Cormoranii -MM-'s zone, Bernardo Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dino Zoff came out of the goal and Bernardo Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cormoranii -MM-'s Dino Zoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Novaes in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Lex Academy booed when Cormoranii -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornel Sălcudeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute Lex Academy were awarded a corner. Roman Jursa went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Lex Academy's corner Miloslav Krupička fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dino Zoff quite easily take care of the ball. In the 36th minute of the game Cornel Sălcudeanu made a throw-in which Nils-Åke Nyström played forward. 38 minutes in the game Cornel Sălcudeanu did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Nils-Åke Nyström. In the 38th match minute, Lex Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michal Pikl to maneuver through the defense. Dino Zoff stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Novaes's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bernardo Novaes was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Miloslav Krupička had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dino Zoff. Cormoranii -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miloslav Krupička was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Michal Pikl kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. When Bernardo Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Lex Academy fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Novaes couldn't finish the play. After having played for 60 minutes, Bernardo Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lex Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardo Novaes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Cormoranii -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Novaes came free, but Dino Zoff reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cormoranii -MM- booed when Lex Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mojmír Houška didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lex Academy's Otmar Schovánek was substituted for Radomir Wyrostek. After a rather tough play, Lex Academy's Mojmír Houška got a free kick in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Lex Academy's goalkeeper Tomáš Houdek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Costel Diaconu. Cornel Panaitescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Tomáš Houdek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 minutes of play, Lex Academy's Miloslav Krupička made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dino Zoff was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 84th minute, Roman Jursa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cormoranii -MM-'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
