The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gernando Cordeiro in the 2nd minute of play forced Barões F. If Zhu Chao Guang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 9th minute Amarante Sierra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Baiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Baiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gernando Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Catarinense F.C.'s José Chilavert proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Catarinense F.C. from getting a goal against them. Catarinense F.C.'s José Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nixon Richard in the 29th minute of play. José Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Donato Paraibano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barões F. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 84th match minute, Barões F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Pistolelis to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute Angel Diagur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Baiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
