In the 14th minute Sven-Edvin Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Pinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolf Hamberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Nery Pumpido when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 21st match minute, GuateFortín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heriberto Correa to maneuver through the defense. If Sven-Edvin Jansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Olavo Pinto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Edvin Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Cassandros Elite Team's goal looked a bit too open when Zico Zellier came free, but Olavo Pinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cassandros Elite Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rolf Hamberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cassandros Elite Team! Cassandros Elite Team:s Olavo Pinto showed great skill when he stopped Angel Alvarenga:s penalty. Olavo Pinto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Angel Alvarenga went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zico Zellier in the 36th minute of play forced Cassandros Elite Team's goalkeeper Olavo Pinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nery Pumpido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Josué Pedroso in the 41st minute. Rolf Hamberg took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nery Pumpido. Nery Pumpido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thierry Henry to strike the kick off in the second half. Cassandros Elite Team's Olavo Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Henry in the 51st minute of play. Zico Zellier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
