August Hoffmanns showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateusz Cizeski, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Rot-Weiss-Essen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariusz Czubski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. August Hoffmanns showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateusz Cizeski in the 27th minute of the match. In the 28th minute Mateusz Cizeski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mateusz Cizeski in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg August Hoffmanns saved Rot-Weiss-Essen from getting behind. After 33 minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cyprian Prokowski who took care of the corner kick. It was a well-played corner which Mariusz Czubski managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 35th minute Mateusz Cizeski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but August Hoffmanns saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heemskerk AC's Mateusz Cizeski got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Zdzislaw Tychy came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Heemskerk AC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zdzislaw Tychy couldn't finish the play. If Mateusz Cizeski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. August Hoffmanns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateusz Cizeski in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Zdzislaw Tychy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. August Hoffmanns came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Heemskerk AC's Mateusz Cizeski. But to his dismay, Mateusz Cizeski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half Heemskerk AC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mateusz Cizeski made a kick off. Aureliusz Tomiczek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos in the 59th minute of play. Aureliusz Tomiczek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Heemskerk AC's Konstanty Wojton was substituted for Zdzislaw Tychy. In the 71st minute, Mesut Özil ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aureliusz Tomiczek was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Heemskerk AC's Herbert Tepper was substituted for Mateusz Cizeski. In the 76th minute, Heemskerk AC's Modesto Iratxo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Modesto Iratxo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Heemskerk AC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Modesto Iratxo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 77th minute Anestis Kotsopoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aureliusz Tomiczek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Herbert Tepper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without August Hoffmanns having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maximilian Henning nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aureliusz Tomiczek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Hugo Haupt charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugo Haupt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Heemskerk AC booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Haupt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85thth minute of the game Herbert Tepper who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rot-Weiss-Essen's August Hoffmanns was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
