Zé Roberto Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Josiah Mwangi Rop scored 1-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jarbas Guedes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Patxi in the 13th minute of play forced S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Jarbas Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Roberto Moura in the 15th minute of play forced Estrellas de Caballito's goalkeeper Esteve Blanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Estrellas de Caballito booed when S S Palestra Italia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Josiah Mwangi Rop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Guedes having to interfere. Jarbas Guedes was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Josiah Mwangi Rop capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Josiah Mwangi Rop really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Thanks to some nice moves Josiah Mwangi Rop could shoot a difficult shot in the 32nd minute, which Jarbas Guedes however easily saved by the left post. Jarbas Guedes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Josiah Mwangi Rop in the 37th minute. Esteve Blanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Tasso in the 39th minute of the match. Esteve Blanco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Inácio Figueiredo went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Roberto Moura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristobal Patxi in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jarbas Guedes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 56th minute of the match Estrellas de Caballito got a corner. S S Palestra Italia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Donato Erramun ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Donato Erramun got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jarbas Guedes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Artemio Francho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Patxi in the 66th minute of play forced S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Jarbas Guedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Josiah Mwangi Rop in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jarbas Guedes saved S S Palestra Italia from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Robinho Castro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Esteve Blanco. That made the score 2-3 in the 75 minute of play. With an all-out effort, S S Palestra Italia's Esteve Blanco threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zé Roberto Moura, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. S S Palestra Italia's Jarbas Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josiah Mwangi Rop in the 92nd minute of play. The supporters of Estrellas de Caballito booed when S S Palestra Italia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rony Tasso didn't get a good kick on the ball. The S S Palestra Italia players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
