With a little luck, Exército Português's Petruț Dicu got control of the ball when Juan Mondaca tried to sneak it across the goal line. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Exército Português's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Seran Turres was slow to take the kick. During this time Magallanes's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Seran Turres got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Petruț Dicu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 11 minutes into the game, Magallanes's Juan Mondaca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petruț Dicu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Magallanes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gustavo Carrasqueira was slow to take the kick. During this time Exército Português's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Robert Przybylski got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ksawery Witkowski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd rose to their feet as Magallanes's Juan Mondaca slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Petruț Dicu. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. Ksawery Witkowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Petruț Dicu made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Juan Mondaca sent off a good shot on target. Petruț Dicu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Mondaca in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Armando Meireles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ksawery Witkowski. Magallanes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Meireles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 34 minutes into the match, Magallanes's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Soveral came free, but Ksawery Witkowski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th match minute, Exército Português was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Van Den Driessche to maneuver through the defense. Armando Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ksawery Witkowski having to interfere. Juan Mondaca scored 3-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petruț Dicu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 62nd minute, Armando Meireles made a precise shot to the right of Ksawery Witkowski. Magallanes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Petruț Dicu came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Magallanes's Juan Mondaca. But to his dismay, Juan Mondaca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Petruț Dicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kadim Sebil, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After 82 minutes Exército Português's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Seran Turres who took care of the corner kick. 83 minutes into the game, Kadim Sebil cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Petruț Dicu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marian Axinte got a throw-in 87 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Robert Przybylski. When Kadim Sebil came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Magallanes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kadim Sebil couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the game, Magallanes's Kadim Sebil nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petruț Dicu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-2. Magallanes were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Exército Português for a fine match.
