Cveto Novinec made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Zulkarnaen Mandaga sent off a good shot on target. Zulkarnaen Mandaga's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Cveto Novinec firmly grabbed it by the left post. Zulkarnaen Mandaga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cveto Novinec read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. With a little luck, FC Koper's Cveto Novinec got control of the ball when Zulkarnaen Mandaga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bandung Tigers's Mekki Item played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wasyl Okropny in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute FC Koper were awarded a corner. Istok Marinč went to the cornerflag to take it. FC Koper's Istok Marinč was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mekki Item in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fachri Puang in the 23rd minute of play forced FC Koper's goalkeeper Cveto Novinec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Koper's goalie and right to Haji Gille. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Koper's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The audience was convinced that Zulkarnaen Mandaga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cveto Novinec was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Minas Markomichalis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zulkarnaen Mandaga might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cveto Novinec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. A well-hit corner resulted in Xiao Jie De heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Zulkarnaen Mandaga might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cveto Novinec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bandung Tigers's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
