FC Koper's Cveto Novinec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyon Brading in the 26th minute of play. Cveto Novinec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Cavallaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wasyl Okropny's late challenge caught a Verbano FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After 47 minutes of play, Verbano FC's Armin Fulgenzi made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cveto Novinec was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martyon Brading was the one to do the kick off. Verbano FC's Attilio Marzoli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Verbano FC from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the FC Koper defense, Florian Cavallaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cveto Novinec. The FC Koper fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cveto Novinec should have stopped the shot. Cveto Novinec made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermanno Bencivenni in the 61st minute of play. When Wasyl Okropny was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. In the 64th minute Florian Cavallaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cveto Novinec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute Martyon Brading shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cveto Novinec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, FC Koper's goal looked a bit too open when Florian Cavallaro came free, but Cveto Novinec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 minutes of play, Verbano FC's Ermanno Bencivenni made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. In the 96th minute Florian Cavallaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cveto Novinec saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There was no doubt that Verbano FC were the better team. Verbano FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
