Estudiantes de la Plata's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Ernie Dixon scored to the left of an out of position Saul Perutxo, making the score, 4-0. A collision led to Estudiantes de la Plata getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Feliberto Lawrence hit a great ball. Marcos Silvanito hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Wilfred Holley scored 5-0 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saul Perutxo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Estudiantes de la Plata getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Angelo Farias hit a great ball. Saul Perutxo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ernie Dixon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 6-0 in the 41 minute of play. Hector Quinto hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 6-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tyrone Marrero to make the kick off. But to his dismay, Ernie Dixon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. 65 minutes into the match, Ernie Dixon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Saul Perutxo. Estudiantes de la Plata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernie Dixon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. Saul Perutxo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thanos Sapalidis in the 73rd minute of play. Boca Juniors's Rich Jean got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thanos Sapalidis in the 76th minute of play forced Estudiantes de la Plata's goalkeeper Saul Perutxo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boca Juniors's Cyryl Karpinski was substituted for Tyrone Marrero. Angelo Farias kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match.
