The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to FC Pepsi getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Lars Hedlund hit a great ball. Paul Holmstedt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orhan Veli Mirac, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 6th minute, Ludvig Ahlroht hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Pepsi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ludvig Ahlroht in the 10th minute. The corner led to FC Pepsi's Kurt Lundin getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Paul Holmstedt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orhan Veli Mirac in the 16th minute of play. When FC XY's Orhan Veli Mirac in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Pepsi's goalie prevented a goal. 18 minutes into the match, Orhan Veli Mirac notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Pepsi's Paul Holmstedt. Paul Holmstedt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Orhan Veli Mirac struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Paul Holmstedt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC XY. 22 minutes into the match, Orhan Veli Mirac had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paul Holmstedt. FC Pepsi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Orhan Veli Mirac was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Orhan Veli Mirac put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Paul Holmstedt. Ludvig Ahlroht kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orhan Veli Mirac in the 30th minute of play forced FC Pepsi's goalkeeper Paul Holmstedt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miroslav Motuz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joshua Sammut Castelletti in the 31st minute of play. After 32 played minutes FC Pepsi got a freekick which was hit by Ludvig Ahlroht. FC XY made a substitution. Daniel Pavlovič replaced Ján Krempašský. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joshua Sammut Castelletti was the one to do the kick off. Miroslav Motuz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Lundin, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Miroslav Motuz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joshua Sammut Castelletti in the 56th minute of the match. Ludvig Ahlroht kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Orhan Veli Mirac blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Holmstedt having to make a save. FC XY's Miroslav Motuz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joshua Sammut Castelletti in the 74th minute of play. FC Pepsi's Paul Holmstedt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save FC Pepsi from getting a goal against them. Paul Holmstedt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Pavlovič in the 75th minute. 78 minutes into the match, FC XY's Orhan Veli Mirac sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paul Holmstedt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a little luck, FC Pepsi's Paul Holmstedt got control of the ball when Orhan Veli Mirac tried to sneak it across the goal line. FC XY's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Pavlovič was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miroslav Motuz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kanu Kanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. FC XY were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over FC Pepsi's much stronger midfield.
