After 8 minutes XV de Piracicaba's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sydney Terra who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Mochila FC's Sydney Terra to fire away a dangerous shot which Fonso Zotillo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Murillo Trigo made in the 10th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Alexsandro Teles. If Fábio Montoia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 26 minutes into the match, Sílvio Laureano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fonso Zotillo. After a rather tough play, XV de Piracicaba's Murillo Trigo got a free kick in the 41st minute. After 42 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Lauro Souto. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gonzalo Jurdan in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frederico Madureira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fonso Zotillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anfilogino Genovese in the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bart Claveau to strike the kick off in the second half. Fonso Zotillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Laureano in the 56th minute of the match. With his leg Frederico Madureira managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when XV de Piracicaba's Gonzalo Jurdan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonzalo Jurdan got free with Frederico Madureira in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gonzalo Jurdan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frederico Madureira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Frederico Madureira made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Gonzalo Jurdan sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the XV de Piracicaba defense, Sílvio Laureano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fonso Zotillo. The XV de Piracicaba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fonso Zotillo should have stopped the shot.
