The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Giorgos Georgakos kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Léo Velloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hector Jerardo in the 8th minute. In the 9th match minute, Deportivo Messina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Bizen to maneuver through the defense. After 11 minutes, Giorgos Georgakos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KAFSONAS F.C. and the Deportivo Messina players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, KAFSONAS F.C.'s Giorgos Georgakos got a free kick in the 11th minute. If Renato Fernandes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 19 minutes, Simos Kapataidakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KAFSONAS F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Simos Kapataidakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. KAFSONAS F.C.'s Léo Velloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save KAFSONAS F.C. from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Fernandes came free, but Yuriy Babushkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domingo Jakue could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Léo Velloso made a huge save. In the 31st match minute, Deportivo Messina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingo Jakue to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renato Fernandes in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yuriy Babushkin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Messina's Gabriel Bizen got a free kick in the 39th minute. Yuriy Babushkin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renato Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Deportivo Messina's Luis Cordario was substituted for Rene Pierres. Deportivo Messina's Jonathan Guillerme was substituted for Paulino Vellito. The wind increased when Teodosio Ascencio made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, KAFSONAS F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Fernandes to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in KAFSONAS F.C.'s zone, Hector Jerardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yuriy Babushkin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renato Fernandes in the 55th minute. After 62 played minutes Deportivo Messina got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Guillerme. Kleanthis Basinas might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yuriy Babushkin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kleanthis Basinas ran back to his position shaking his head. Renato Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yuriy Babushkin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renato Fernandes in the 76th minute. Deportivo Messina's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Renato Fernandes 76 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. After having played for 79 minutes, Kleanthis Basinas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The throw-in from Kleanthis Basinas in the 96th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Deportivo Messina's Domingo Jakue. Teodosio Ascencio took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Léo Velloso. Léo Velloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched KAFSONAS F.C. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
