The audience thought a goal was coming when Anak Selby got free with Betão Pontes in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by GKS Katowice's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Manuel Aurelianu was slow to take the kick. During this time Begu Ganjang's players had a chance to rest. Betão Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anak Selby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anak Selby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 20 played minutes GKS Katowice got a freekick which was hit by Ludomir Zacharek. Begu Ganjang's Tạ I played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olgierd Cwojdak in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute Sebastian Cipău shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Betão Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tạ I showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cezary Kasiewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After a rather tough play, Begu Ganjang's Belcho Drúndev got a free kick in the 39th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anak Selby made a kick off. The GKS Katowice fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Betão Pontes should have stopped the shot. 58 minutes into the match, Begu Ganjang's goalkeeper Tạ I had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lucjan Werra.
